• The Mark Dini Group has opened for Larry Carlton, Boney James, Chuck Mangione and Roy Hargrove. The Boney James Show was a sold out show at the Verizon Wireless Theatre and the Mark Dini Group received a standing ovation at the end of their performance. • As reviewed in the Houston Press: "Possessing enough technique to awe rock players in town, jazz guitarist Mark Dini draws as much from Steely Dan and Jeff Beck as he does from Pat Metheny and Wes Montgomery. Dini's set list appeals to both serious and casual jazz fans, and his keen judgment has earned him first-call status at Sambuca Jazz Cafe, where he not only headlines, but has opened for jazz stalwarts like Larry Carlton and Roy Hargrove." •Mark Dini has performed as a sideman with artists including: Ken Mondshine, Dean James, Kelly Dean, The Shapeshifters, Joseph Vincelli, Dean James, Grady Nichols, Michael Cates, The Brotherhood, Above the Rimm, Johnny Guitar Watson, Phil Blackmon, and many others. • The Mark Dini Group has four CDs released: "Green Light", "Back for Seconds", "Imagine That"and "Live at Sambuca". • "Back for Seconds" received three entry level Grammy Nominations. • "Back for Seconds" received consistent radio play on Houston's Abritron #1 rated radio station, Sunny 99.1 Jazz Brunch and KTSU 90.9 • The Mark Dini Group has been a regular weekend band at Houston's premier Jazz Club and Restaurant (Sambuca) for over seven years. • The Mark Dini Group has recently been asked to play three Saturdays a month at the Jazz Room at Ruggles. • Nominated several times by the Houston Press for Best Jazz Group in Houston. • Acclaimed by Dave Shrader, former Dean of the School of Music for the University of North Texas and Eric Johnson, Grammy winer and four time winner of the Guitar Player Reader's Poll for best overall guitarist. • The Mark Dini Group also plays private engagements. They are booked to play the Houston Astro's Black Tie Gala for the third year in a row. The group also plays private parties and corporate functions. • Mark Dini studied composition and guitar in Souther California with the Kiko Cibrian, multi-platinum producer, songwriter and guitarist for Louis Miguel. • The Music from "Back for Seconds" was used extensively in the motion picture "Laughing Boy" which was was an award winner (Most Original Film) at the New York film festival in 2000.
